What is it about?
The World and European Skills Championships take place every two years. Germany is also represented at these international vocational competitions – WorldSkills and EuroSkills – in the discipline of CNC milling. We hold German championships at national level to find suitable candidates to represent Germany on the international stage.
Next year, the German CNC milling championship will take place over several qualifying rounds.
The final will be held from July 7 to 18, 2025 at Chiron Group SE in Tuttlingen.
The best of the German Championships will be included in the CNC milling national team. After further joint training sessions for the upcoming international vocational competitions, a decision will be made as to who will represent Germany at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 and EuroSkills Düsseldorf 2027.
What knowledge do I need to bring with me?
The following knowledge is important for the competition:
General professional knowledge
Discipline-specific knowledge such as creating executable CNC programs based on specified production drawings using a CADCAM system
Defining and measuring the machining tools
Setting up the machine
Production of workpieces with subsequent quality inspection
Ability to concentrate
Knowledge of English
Competence to act and the ability to develop this further
What do I have to fulfill? Is it complicated?
No! Absolutely not! First and foremost, you need to enjoy your job and have fun.
You should also be interested in sporting competition and have a good command of what you have learned in your job.
As soon as you have registered, we will provide you with further information about the process and the tasks.
These are the conditions of participation and the required skills in detail:
Trainees and young skilled workers in the metalworking professions are eligible to participate
There is no age limit for participation in the German Championships. However, if you want to take part in the next WorldSkills, you must not be older than 22 in 2026 (born from 01.01.2004). The maximum age for EuroSkills 2027 is 25 years (born from 01.01.2002).
